Roger attended Georgia Southern College from 1977 – 1979 and graduated from Bradley University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management. Roger became LEED AP certified in February 2009. He has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry.

In 1977, Roger began his construction career as a laborer for Goodea Construction Company. He advanced over the years to become a project superintendent, a project manager, and finally becoming the vice president in 1998. Roger has also held positions at Pipeline Systems, Inc., as project manager and vice president since 1993. In 1996 Roger founded GilCon & Associates – a non-union commercial firm under The Gildea Group – to service the private construction sector. He has been the president since the inception.

During Roger’s time working in the field operations of the company, he has gained vast experience supervising and managing large construction projects. His skills include contract negotiations, progress scheduling, shop drawing review, and job site supervision. Along with managing jobs on-site and off, Roger plays a tremendous role in senior management, corporate/financial management, and human resources/personnel management for all firms in The Gildea Group.
Some of the completed projects Roger has been involved in include construction of high rises, financial institutions, medical facilities, primary and higher education buildings, retail establishments, municipal facilities, and restoration of historic buildings. Many of these projects present unique construction challenges and significant attention to detail.

In early 2019, Roger started RLG Construction Consulting, LLC as an in-house consulting firm under The Gildea Group. With Roger’s previous 35 years of construction experience, he is an expert in project planning, project design, and project management. His mission is to aid customers with a variety of construction services, including historical restoration, value engineering, independent inspection and consulting on energy and water/wastewater treatment projects.
